A place where the present pays tribute to the past
Established as a parish in 1869, Baie-des-Sables is renowened for its architectural heritage: the lovely homes, the wharf and the old mill (1838), the rectory (1864) and the impressive steeple of its church, which during the summer season can be visited by the public and offers a local handicraft exhibit.

This church is the third church of Baie-des-Sables. It was built in 1940 over the structure of the second church, which was destroyed by fire. This church, a prestigious temple because of its design and decoration, can be recognized at first glance by its massive steeple.

Make a stop at the cheese factory to try our farmhouse cheeses: mild and
aged cheddars, or soft Camembert-type cheese. New and unique in Canada,
"Le Rayon d'Or”, a semi-firm probiotic cheese.
Schedule: June to
September, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. October to May, Wednesday through Saturday,
from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m. Closed Monday and
Tuesday.
