Sights good enough to eat… like tasty maple sugar!
The youngest community of the regional country municipality of Matane, Saint-Paule features an interesting resort, especially in the Portage Lake area. For instance, over 125 residences and cottages border the lake. Several other lakes are also renowened for fishing, such as the Lac à la Loutre, Petchedetz, Ristigouche and Towago Lake.
If you would like to admire one of the best panoramas in the Matane region, an observation tower, perched at the top of a mountain near Lac à la Loutre, offers an unrestricted view of the wind tubines, the Matapédia Valley and all the bordering villages. If you look towards the St. Lawrence, you can even see the Côte-Nord!
