The Matane Wildlife Reserve has the largest number of moose per square kilometre in all of Québec. Educational activities on local wildlife for the public: moose interpretation centre, black bear watching in their natural habitat, moose photo safari, and wildlife watching by kayak. The Reserve is a superb destination for a hunting and fishing trip. Visitors can opt to stay in fully equipped cottages (BBQ and kayak included) near a lake or river, or in the semi-and full-service campgrounds located near the John Registration Centre and Étang à la truite. Hiking trails in the midst of stunning scenery on the surrounding 1 000-metre-high mountains !
