Salmon and Striped Bass Fishing Guides
Tourisme Matane and the Société de gestion de la rivière Matane do not employ salmon fishing guides. All the guides who work on the Matane River operate privately.
In accordance with article 109 of the Loi sur la mise en valeur et la conservation de la faune, in order to have the right to guide on the Matane Salmon River for a fee, a guide must be issued a business authorization by the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs. Any person who operates a guiding business without authorization is committing an offence under the Act. We strongly recommend that you verify that your guide has the proper authorization.
If you wish to have the service of guiding, we propose you a list of guides having a legal authorization of trade for the river which you can find above.
Tourisme Matane and the Société de gestion de la rivière Matane cannot be held responsible for any disputes and/or inconveniences related to private guide services.
