Matane Salmon River

The Société de gestion de la rivière Matane manages the Matane Salmon River from the Cap-des-Pilotes bridge till the Lake Matane in the Matane Wildlife Reserve. The river stretches over a 80 kilometres area, with 80 salmon pools. It is one of Quebec’s most famous salmon rivers. Fishing there is easy and accessible, making it a destination of choice for rookies.

Schedule: June 15 to September 30, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Guided tours suggestions.

River trip allowed on kayak, canoe or paddleboard starting at the bridge on Chemin de la Coulée Carrier (route 195) until the Parc des Îles.
