Everyone agrees that Ariane Roy, a leading figure in Quebec City’s now-famous music scene, winner of the Breakout Artist of the Year award at the 2022 ADISQ Gala, Radio-Canada’s 2021–2022 Breakout Artist, a two-time JUNO Award nominee, and winner of the 2022 Félix-Leclerc Award, the FEQ Rising Star Award, and many more, is clearly destined to shine among our brightest stars. Following the release of her debut album, *medium plaisir* (2022), Ariane made a name for herself by setting stages ablaze across Quebec with a fiery performance that showcased the dazzling talent that has defined her since her very beginnings. The singer-songwriter now returns with *Dogue*, a second album that marks a departure from what we’ve come to expect from her. Co-produced with Félix Petit (Hubert Lenoir, Les Louanges, Bonnie Banane), *Dogue* bares its teeth—yes, to smile—but at whose expense? It doesn’t matter to us, since we can’t resist bowing down before those fangs, hoping to join the pack.
