The Quebec duo Grand Eugène, made up of Melyssa Lemieux and Jeremy Lachance, finds its way both through the urgency to create and into the depths of memories that are hard to put into words. Between CEGEP, Montreal apartments, and the western part of the country, their collaborative project took shape in 2023 with a self-titled debut EP. Their intention is clear: to offer an indie sound with a dreamlike quality, carried by the singer’s whispered vocals and the main composer’s soft, ethereal arrangements. Several of their songs, including “Celle-là” and “Danser,” quickly racked up hundreds of thousands of streams on platforms, drawing the attention of music lovers on both sides of the Atlantic to the promising Quebec duo. In 2024, Grand Eugène released a second EP, “Les vacances d’été,” which they took on tour across Quebec and France.
Like a flower on a gravestone, their music blossoms everywhere, soothes broken hearts, and breathes new life into even the most fleeting moments.
