The Rivière Bonjour’s Unorganized Territory covers a vast area of 1715 km2, inhabited by 10 people only. Its territory covers a large chunk of the Matane Wildlife Reserve, part of Cap-Chat’s Controlled Harvesting Zone as well as the Faribault outfitter, also known as the Giants’ land. Forest exploitation, wildlife and forest protection, and resorts represent the area’s major activities.

The territory takes its name after the Bonjour River that flows over 15 kilometres, between the Bonjour Lake, in the Le Clercq County, and the Matane River. This body of water leads to a valley sitting on the edge of the Chic-Chocs Mountains with peaks’ altitude as high as 1000 metres. A few streams, coming from the mountains, spill into this river. An alternative route that crosses the Matane Wildlife Reserve can also be found, alongside the Matane and Bonjour rivers.

Activities: Canoeing, Canyoning, Hunting, Falls, Kayaking, Off-road Motorbike Riding, Snowmobiling, Wildlife Observation, Fishing, Quad Riding, Hiking, Snowshoeing, Wildlife Reserve, Salmon river, International Appalachian trail, Off-road Skiing, Biking.

Services: Inn, Camping, Cabins, Snowmobile Stop.
