Ferme citoyenne de La Matanie - Community Farm Gardens

Open au May 6, 2024.

From seedlings to harvest, individual or community members of La Matanie's Community Farm Gardens work together. Guided by an experienced agricultural advisor and her team, each person cultivates and harvests a portion of the fruits of their labor. Surpluses are distributed in the form of solidarity baskets to help people in vulnerable situations. At the end of the season, excess produce is carefully preserved or processed by the Collective Kitchen of the Matane region.

Program 2024

Tuesdays 5 to 7/happy hour are devoted to collective tasks. These will start on May 7.

Gardening training, collective plots, community plots, Tuesday 5-7/happy hour agrofuns in the field, collective hen houses, collective beehives, other activities, plant exchange day, harvest festival.

• The Plant Exchange Day is an annual event where citizens are invited to bring plants to exchange with other members. The Plant Exchange Day will be held at the Cégep de Matane Fab Lab on June 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• The Fête des grandes récoltes (Harvest Festival) is a rallying event to welcome citizens in a festive atmosphere of harvesting in the field (contests, music, olympiad, etc.) Under the carrot theme for 2024. The Fête des grandes récoltes will be held on August 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the fields of the community farm gardens.
