Located in Saint-Léandre de Matane, six kilometres into the forest, the Trails of the Grotte des Fées (the “Fairy Cave”) offers outdoor enthusiasts hiking trails that vary from family level to intermediate. The arboretum and the wildlife, historical and geological information allow visitors to discover the region’s forest heritage. The site provides access to a canyon, a waterfall and a 500-million-year-old rocky grotto. The scenic outlook at Lac Adèle provides an ideal site for birdwatching. The trails are 8 kilometers long.

The site is accessible by a seven-kilometre forest road with only one lane. Not recommended for trailers or recreational vehicles. The walking trails are closed to hikers during hunting season.

Schedule: June 15 to September 23, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (note that the small game hunting starts on September 17).
Free admission.

Located at the intersection of Route du Peintre and Route Levasseur in Saint-Léandre.
